Mrs. Jenna Winter

Welcome to SEAS Preschool 2026-2027

Hello and welcome to our Preschool page! I feel so blessed to be starting my second year of teaching (first at SEAS!) Please reference this page often, as I update it monthly with a brief outline of what we will be learning this month, as well as other important dates/information. Our classroom para is Ms. Hanna. This is also her first year at SEAS!

Please make sure to send any school supplies/student information sheets with your student on their first day if you have not already. One of the folders that you brought will be their take-home folder. We highly suggest just keeping this folder in their backpack and checking it often. If you did not pick up the paper that were given to you at open house, they will be sent home in their take-home folder on the first day. Please make sure you join our Seesaw class! We will use the app to share pictures of all the activities we do throughout the day!

Please note: The primary way I will be communicating is through Seesaw, email, and here on our class page. Please make sure to check both often to stay up-to-date!

Drop off Information:

If you haven't already, please review the email Mrs. Cantrell sent regarding the Preschool/PreK drop-off routine, especially if you haven't had a morning preschool student in the last year. Morning students MWF and Tu/Th will not be dropped off at the Church Bell Tower! If you are walking them in, please park in the church parking lot. After Labor Day, if you still feel the need to walk them in, you will need to sign in at the office and get a visitor pass.

Students who arrive before 7:40 am will be escorted by one of the aides or student ambassadors to the library to wait with their peers. Our classroom will be locked until 7:40 am and then I will greet them at the door. If they arrive after 7:40 they will wait with the aide at the drop-off location until 7:50 am, then will be escorted to the classroom. Anyone who arrive after 7:50 will need to park, walk them in, and check in through the office.

Pick-Up Information:

A small handout will be going home with your student regarding pick-up procedures for our class on funeral days. Our class gets out at the same time as funerals do and as you can imagine, it is uncomfortable for everyone. On those days, you can typically tell based on how full the parking lot is or if there is a hearse in front of the church. If you notice this, pick-up will be at the flagpole. I will send my para over to redirect anyone who may have forgotten. If I know ahead of time, I will send out an email letting everyone know.

Other Important Information:

  • The 1st days of school will be August 17-20th. We stagger start the kids so please reach out to either me or Mrs. Cantrell to find out what 1st day your child will be attending or if you have any other questions. We do allow parents to walk their students in on the first day, but after that we prefer parents drop off at the door with the aide.
  • Starting the first week, I will be sending your child's "take-home folder" that they will keep in their backpack to bring to school everyday.
  • Please keep a change of clothes in a gallon baggie in your child's backpack. We cannot assist with bathroom hygiene. Please practice at home. In an emergency, parents may be called to assist.

Reminders:

  • Clothing: Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather and wearing clothes you don't mind getting messy.
  • Backpacks should be full-sized (big enough to start extra clothes and a folder)
  • Please return the information letter from open house as soon as possible
  • Please call the office if your child is absent.
  • Summer birthdays! If your child has a summer birthday, we will celebrate their half birthday!

Optional Alphabet Show and Tell (4-year-old PreK only):

Students in the 4-year-old PreK class will have the opportunity to bring 1 show-and-tell item weekly, that starts with the letter we are learning that week. For example, during the letter L week, a student might bring a Lion or Lollipop. Show and tell can be brought to school once a week, on any day. Please check here at least once a month to stay updated on what letters we are learning. We will begin in September.

Library:

Both PreK and Preschool students will get to visit the library once a week! Our librarian, Mrs. Stewart, is so excited to meet them! PreK students will have the opportunity to check out a book from her personal library when they visit. Please return books weekly on Wednesdays so they can check out a new book!

Themes for August: Back to school, All About Me, Emotions

Religion Topics: Jesus Loves Me, God is Our Creator, Sign of the Cross

Learning Objectives: Classroom routines and rules, understanding emotions (red/green choice), alphabet intro, counting and ordinal numbers, position words, and the different lines we use to make letters.

Thank you for trusting us with your children and allowing us to be a part of such important years in their lives. We can't wait to watch your children learn new things, make friends, become more independent, and grow throughout the year. We are looking forward to a year filled with learning, laughter, friendship, creativity and lots of fun!

Here's to an amazing school year!
